I’m excited to announce my new artist residency at Pinky Swear NYC, a Lower East Side staple where I’ll be bringing together my worlds of fine art, manga, fashion, and character design through a new exhibition and series of cultural events.
OCTOBER 22ND - 9:30 PM AT PINKY SWEAR NYC - RSVP HERE
The residency is an opportunity for me to build out my creative universe in a physical space, exploring how my work can exist beyond the canvas and interact with the environments we occupy. A major influence throughout my practice has always been manga, anime, video games, and speculative worlds. I’m interested in the way these mediums create entire universes around characters, where the characters themselves become a language for telling stories, building worlds, and exploring identity.
For this exhibition, I’m bringing together my original manga-inspired character designs and my signature skeletal figures. I’ve always been fascinated by the skeleton as a visual symbol, and how it can exist across different contexts, from fine art and illustration to fashion and popular culture. In this new body of work, my characters inhabit and invade the painted environments I create, blurring the lines between the worlds I imagine and the physical spaces we live in.
The residency also marks the launch of Skeletal, a new brand and extension of my artistic practice. I’ve always approached fashion as another medium for making art, and Skeletal gives me a way to translate my visual language into wearable artifacts and objects that exist outside the traditional gallery setting.
Beyond the exhibition, I want Pinky Swear to become a space for gathering, conversation, and cultural exchange. Throughout the residency, I’ll be developing programming that includes movie nights, conversations, and other community events that reflect the references, ideas, and influences behind my work.
For me, this project is about creating an environment where all the different parts of my practice can coexist. Art, fashion, manga, music, and community have always informed one another in my world. This residency gives me the opportunity to bring those elements together, experiment with how they interact, and invite people into the universe I’ve been building.
SKELETAL at Pinky Swear NYC is the next evolution of that universe, and I’m excited to share it.
